CISAC (Confédération Internationale des Sociétés d’Auteurs et Compositeurs), the global body that brings together song right collective societies from around the world, recently issued its Annual Report 2018. CISAC protects the rights and promotes the interests of creators worldwide. CISAC works with 239 societies in 121 countries and represents more than 4 million creators from all geographic areas and all artistic repertoires; music, audiovisual, drama, litterature and visual arts.
The report features forewords by President Jean-Michel Jarre, Chair Eric Baptiste and Director General Gadi Oron, followed by the views of the four Vice Presidents, all creators from various creative fields and regions in the world. The report also highlights key data and figures from the activity of its 239 member societies in 2018, gives a review of CISAC work program month-by-month and focus on some special campaigns achieved throughout the year such as the transfer of value, the private copying campaign or the cross-industry initiative on developing effective data management tools. The report ends with CISAC governance bodies and regional reports.
