What is Armonia ?

New digital technologies redefine the conditions of music exploitation and the European legislative framework is evolving. With the view to respond to these challenges, Sacem, Sgae and Siae founded Armonia.

Armonia is an alliance established to facilitate the licensing of Sacem, Sgae and Siae repertoires internationally.

Armonia sets up a one-stop pan-European licensing for online and mobile digital rights.

The Societies intend to give this alliance the mandate to administer the mechanical and performing rights in their repertoires for online and/or mobile exploitation, on the territory of EEA.

What is the aim of Armonia ?

The aim is to be able to license the rights of these three major repertoires (the one represented by Sacem + the one represented by Sgae + the one represented by Siae) under a single license in Europe for online and mobile digital uses.

What is a pan- European license?

A pan-European license permits to license repertoires all over Europe. Armonia will allow the licensing of these three repertoires in a single point.

What are the interests of Armonia for right-owners?

This alliance of three major European repertoires should increase the efficiency of the management of the rights. It recognizes the principle of right-owner choice.

What are the interests of Armonia for users?

Armonia provides users with a simple way of obtaining a multi-territory license. It permits easy access to the works and thus increases the conditions for online digital and mobile services expansion.Users will be able to license a huge amount of repertoire on a multi-territory basis with all the efficiencies that will bring to their own administration systems.

What are the interests of Armonia for other CMO (Collective Management Organisations)?

Armonia offers a collaborative approach to pan-European Digital licensing and administration. It looks to other collection societies to joint the alliance.

Will this increase the number of places a user has to go to get a license?

By this framework we wish to make easy to get a license for our rights. This context will make a huge amount of repertoire available for multi-territory users from one place and, with the expected cooperation of other collection societies; it could be possible to offer even more.
